As more educational institutions and universities are making courses available online, institutions are experimenting with different ways to make online learning easy and engaging. This has driven online video to become one of the most important parts of education. Online video is becoming the new backbone of education technology, and educational institutions are focusing on face-to-face video classes to give students more of an in-class learning experience.

SBIIFL provides language courses at four levels: Certificate, Diploma, PG Diploma & Adv. Diploma.


Syllabus

Certificate (6 months)

 

Eligibility: 10+2 or equivalent.

Part I :

  • Communicative Part-I (basic of concerned languages)
  • Basic grammar based on the textbook prescribed by Institute

Part II :

  • Comprehension and Written Expression (Basic Level)

        i. Comprehension of texts

        ii. Comprehension of Précis

        iii. Essays on different topics

        iv. Translation of passages in English

Part III :

  • Oral Expression (Reading of texts, questions, and information about the country, culture & civilization)

Diploma (6 months)

 

Eligibility: 10+2 or equivalent & certificate level in the concerned language.

Part I :

  • Communicative Part – II ( of concerned languages )
  • Basic and Functional Grammar based on the textbook prescribed       by Institute

Part II :

  • Text Comprehension and Written Expression

        i. Texts comprehension

        ii. Essay and letter writing

        iii. Translation of passages into the languages of study & vice-versa

Part III :

  • Oral Expression (Reading, Writing, and answering the questions. Discussion on issues of general interests)

Advanced/Post Graduate Diploma (24 months)

 

Eligibility:

  • for Adv. Diploma - certificate & diploma level in the concerned language 
  • for PG Diploma - graduate with a certificate or diploma in the concerned language

Part I :

  •  Advanced-level study in the concerned language
  •  Advanced level grammar
  •  Analysis of texts based on other general topics
  •  Letters and Essays on specific terms & topics

Part II :

  • Literature

Part III :

  • Languages (concerned) for specific purposes.

        i. Translation: Texts from the concerned language into English and Vice-versa

       ii. Concerned language for the purposes of business and                       tourist sector

     iii. Letters writing in concerned languages for commercial and official purposes

Part IV :

  • Oral Expression- discussions on political, Social, historical, and cultural topics, films, business, and tourism.

Advanced PG Diploma (24 months)

 

Eligibility: PG Diploma in the concerned language

There will be five papers in this course of One Year Duration and each paper shall consist of 100 marks out of which 80 marks shall be for theory and 20 marks for viva:

  • Paper-I - History and Society
  • Paper-II - Government, Politics, and Society (Contemporary).
  • Paper-III - The Economic Development.
  • Paper-IV - Foreign Policy in present and past
  • Paper-V - Elementary Language-Grammar and Translation.


Note: *20% of the total marks assigned to the Diploma Course shall be prescribed be distributed over the various papers prescribed for this course. The viva shall be 100 marks conducted jointly by external and internal experts.

Our Program For Schools

 For Schools, we have a unique program under which we plan to cover certificate and diploma degrees in six years time frame. Here the students from class 6th-8th learn the language at the certificate level and from 9th-11th they learn at the diploma level. Thus by the time the pupil graduates from high school, s/he will hold a certificate plus a diploma in a foreign language.

Part I :

  • Communicative Part-I (basic of concerned languages)
  • Basic grammar based on the textbook prescribed by Institute

Part II :

  • Comprehension and Written Expression (Basic Level)

i. Comprehension of texts

Part III :

  • Oral Expression (Reading of texts, questions, and information about the country, culture & civilization)


 learning outcomes: 

 

  • Can understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases aimed at the satisfaction of needs of a concrete type.
  • Can introduce him/herself and others and ask and answer questions about personal details such as where he/she lives, people he/she knows, and things he/she has.
  • Can interact in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help.

Part I :

Part III :

 Learning outcomes: 


 

  • Can understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to most immediate relevance (e.g., fundamental personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment).
  • Can communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters.
  • Can describe in simple terms aspects of his/her background, immediate environment, and matters in immediate need areas.

Examination Structure

a) The Assessment Structure shall be as follows:

 i) 45% for the final theory paper.

 ii) 45% for internal assessment and viva

 iii) 10% for attendance

b) The results of the examinations will be declared as follows:

 

i) I Division - 60%

ii) II Division - 45% and above but below 60%


The minimum Pass Percentage will be 45% marks in aggregate.


If a candidate scores 65% or above in the aggregate, s/he will be declared to have secured Distinction in the Course.
